What is the Knowledge Vaccine Project?
KVP is a series of online radioshow-style discussions on
HIV/AIDS-related issues and research based at Dr. David
O'Connor's HIV/AIDS Vaccine Research Lab at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.
Project Goals:
- To host discussions about the challenges and realities of
HIV/AIDS-related issues and research
- To make these discussions accessible to anyone with an
internet connection
- To create a forum that will allow the community of
professionals involved in HIV/AIDS work to answer questions
for the general public and for each other
Discussion Format:
Discussions are broadcasted in an online radioshow-style
format using Nicecast. To listen to discussions live,
simply click on the link provided in the e-mail sent out to
the KVP mailing list just before the discussion. Quicktime
Player will open, allowing you to listen to the discussion
live--from anywhere with an internet connection. Listeners
may also log onto Skype during discussions to submit live
questions for KVP discussants. For detailed instructions on
how to participate in discussions using Quicktime Player
and Skype, see the "Quicktime and Skype" link in the
sidebar to the left.
